Origins of Dreamology

Most Dreamologists view Chen Shiyuan (author of The Lofty Principles of Dream Interpretation) as  the one and only prophet of Dreamology, and consider him to be the founder of the religion. Dreamologists view Shiyuan's writings as the truths of their religion. Chen Shiyuan wrote this cutting-edge text in the sixteenth century, meaning that Dreamology has only truly existed for about five hundred years.
      What do Dreamologists believe?
*Dreaming is an alternate reality
*When dreaming, our true souls are free
*Our actions in the physical world affect our experiences in the Dream Realm (much like the Buddhist/Hindu concept of Karma)
*Our dreams have deep, spiritual meaning in relation to our physical lives
*Upon death, it is our goal to become one with the Dream Realm and live there permanently
*The physical world is a test; the Dream Realm is our real goal
*Our existence is permanent; if one does not move forward to the Dream Realm upon death, they must repeat life until they can achieve this (reincarnation in the physical world)
*The ultimate goal within the physical world: to apply lessons learned in the Dream Realm to one's life and to know moral peace
*While in the physical world we are lost: the only thing that truly exists is the Dream Realm
*Our souls are the common denominator between the physical world and the Dream Realm; our bodies have no value

The practice of Dreamology is the exploration of one's dreams, the attempt to understand them and apply those lessons to their life, and the lifelong effort to become one with the Dream Realm.
